Exactly one year ago, with the demise of NJN, Due
Process was on the verge of extinction. Then Rutgers Law School and
Dean John Farmer stepped in from Newark, and Dr. Raphael Caprio and his Rutgers
Division of Continuing Studies/iTV Studio entered from New Brunswick.
A
unique partnership was forged, which not only guaranteed survival, but allowed
us to have what may have been our most successful season ever.
For proof,
check out the disclosure, last night, of this year's Mid-Atlantic Emmy
Nominations. The words "Due Process" and "Rutgers, the
State University" were spoken six times during simultaneous
announcements in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg - bringing the overall
number of our nominations to more than
80!

Due Process is already the winner of 19 New York and
Mid-Atlantic Emmys. On Sept. 22, when the Philadelphia Hilton hosts the Emmy
Ceremony, we hope to see that number rise to well-over 20 - a minor miracle for
a program that had seemed, just last summer, to have no future.
Thank
you, Ray and John. Thank you, Rutgers. Thank you, Fund for New Jersey. Thank
you, NJTV. Thank you to our friends, supporters and loyal viewers - from the
State House to the big house. We hope to be around - promoting public education
and justice - for a long time to come!
